We are a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting people with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis (IBD) in Bahrain. We provide information and support to patients, their families, and carers, and we work to raise awareness of IBD in the community.
What is IBD?
IBD is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that can affect any part of the digestive system. Crohn's disease can affect any part of the digestive tract, from the mouth to the anus. Ulcerative colitis only affects the colon (large intestine).

Crohn’s Disease is an IBD disease that causes chronic inflammation and can affect any part in the GI tract, which extends from your stomach all the way down to your anus.
Ulcerative Colitis
Ulcerative colitis is an IBD disease that causes mucosal inflammation and sores (ulcers) in the lining of the large intestine (colon) and rectum.
Symptoms of IBD
The symptoms of IBD can vary depending on the type of disease and the severity of the inflammation. Some common symptoms include:* Abdominal pain

* Rectal bleeding
* Weight loss
* Fatigue
* Fever
